Dr. Heitin knows from experience that identifying or creating an appropriate educational program for a child requires collaboration between the parent and school. An independent educational expert offers the parents support in this effort. To achieve a successful collaboration, Dr. Heitin brings more than forty years of expertise to the table working with students with special needs. In private practice as a special education consultant since 1992, Dr. Heitin has served hundreds of students and their families in assessment, consultation and advocacy. When a parent needs an independent assessment to determine whether a child has a learning disability or attentional issue, Dr. Heitin evaluates the student with a full battery of psychoeducational tests and makes clear recommendations for appropriate action.
