Dr. Ruth C Heitin

Ruth C. Heitin holds a doctoral degree in Special Education Administration. She has served as a teacher and/or administrator in educational programs preschool to the university level over the past 30 years. Dr. Heitin founded Educational Consulting Services in 1992. Her hands-on approach includes having held certification as a regular and special education teacher in elementary and middle schools and as an Elementary principal in Virginia. Dr. Heitin is also proficient in sign language (PSE). She is an enthusiastic and powerful advocate for the educational rights of all children. "The concept of learning disabilities was derived from the fact that all children experience some learning differences," says Dr. Heitin. "It is the magnitude of those differences that distinguishes many students. The key in educating children is to help them achieve success building upon their strengths. When they gain an understanding and an appreciation of their learning abilities, children become independent, successful learners."
